Blog post #37 - set design and properties

 Everything used in the background of a scene needs to be fully intentional. If there is something in the background that does not go with the story it may confuse the viewer.

For example, in the movie Me Time(2022) the background has balloons that say "Happy Birthday" which implies to the audience that the parents are at a birthday party 

If the scene was in a dramatic and more serious movie and the audience saw "happy birthday" in the background, they would be confused as to why it is there. Many times people may make mistakes when recording what is in the shot.

In my film, i made sure that everything in shot was intentional.

for example, in this shot where Noah is walking to the door, there is people and a family dog in the background to show that he is younger and still lives with his immediate family.
