Blog post #25 - lighting
In the very begining of my film, there will be lowkey lighting used on Matthew to show that he is part of the darker or "evil" side of the story. The lighting creates a dramatic effect and shows that Matthew is the bad guy in the film. It draws attention towards Matthew being part of the darker side of the story and creates a mysterious feeling towards Matthew.
The high-key lighting will be used in shots that the persons reaction is the highlight. For example, in the begining scenes of the scene it will be used to show the intentions of each character. The lighting is practically a spotlight onto its subject.
High-key lighting also can contribute to the narritive to the story. When Noah realizes that it was all a prank, James with come out with a flash on his camera to "put the spotlight" onto Noah. This shows that they are trying to get his reaction of how he feels about being terriblely pranked.
