Blog Post #4 - Lighting in drama comedies
The lighting in the movie Hitman is relatively dark and spooky. The lighting creates tension and mystery for what is about to happen in the scene. Along with creating humor in certain scenes.
For example in the photo shown below, Gary has Split Lighting on his face to create a dramatic atmosphere. Madison has a dark lit face to show that she is protected by Gary and he is there to help. There is also an obvious show of tension in the scene.
There are also many scenes that use natural lighting to create realism. The realism adds to the humorous part of the movie by removing the tension from other scenes and creating a more laidback feel that the dramatic scene before was not as tense as the audience portrayed.
In conclusion, the movie gives a clear representation on how i can use lighting in my scene. I understand how the lighting i use can either create tension in the scene or give a laidback feel, which will give a preferred reading for the audience.
