Blog Post #3 - costuming in drama comedies

    In the movie Hitman(2023), the main character Gary, wears dark and long clothing throughout most of the movie which shows that Gary is mysterious and has a dark vibe.

    

    I also noticed that most of the characters have exaggerated clothing. For example, one of the characters Jasper, wears the clothes of an angry and scary country man, but in reality he is a fragile and sad man. The exaggerated clothing makes for a more humorous setting because the characters representation for the audience is more of an oppositional reading. 

    another example of exaggerated clothing is when the character Madison, wears a red dress. The red dress she wears shows that even though Gary and her are on bad terms, she is still in love with him. along with creating greater tension in the scene between the two because wearing a nice red dress casually is not normal

    

        In conclusion, the costuming of drama comedies are more exaggerated and give the audience more of a oppositional reading to create a humorous feeling.
