Blog Post #2 - researching drama comedies

    A good example of a drama comedy would be the movie Hitman (2023). This movie greatly represents how there can be a contrast between the movie being funny, and the movie being serious and tense.

    the movie starts off as showing the lifestyle that Gary the main character, lives a relatively "boring" lifestyle but later shows that he is secretly a fake hitman. It also starts as a normal seeming drama movie but shifts towards bringing humor into the movie. 

    the movie clearly creates a contrast of drama and comedy because as there are major problems that need to be solved, the problems are overlooked by the humor. for example, if there were to be a serious situation between someone trying to hire a hitman, the audience would not be able to take the scene serious since there are too many humorous aspects.

    I could use the information from this movie to implement it into my story by creating a storyline of a casual life, that moves into a mysterious vibe, then into a humorous, more laid back scene which would be a clear representation of a drama comedy.
